Have you heard the folk tale about making soup from a stone? The story's message is one about generosity and having empathy for those less fortunate. For our Thanksgiving activity, children each brought in a vegetable. If a child did not bring a vegetable, it was no problem because we divided up the vegetables and the work and made some hearty soup to share. Families were invited to have soup with us or send a take out container.
